A few EOS 7D video shots taken late one afternoon in Cambridge, UK a few days ago (in and around some of the Colleges / The Backs, the amazing clock on King's Parade, Market Square etc. - whilst I was supposed to be Christmas shopping for my wife's present - which is still yet to be purchased!!!!). All to just wish everyone around the world that knows me (& anyone watching) a very Happy Christmas and prosperous 2010. Hope you enjoy the video!
DETAILS (for those that want them): Shot on my 5 week old Canon EOS 7D with a Canon 17-55mm F2.8 IS USM EF-S lens. Just to test out the camera before I use it for any serious paying corporate video work for my company, Shooting Image Ltd (where a Sony PMW-EX3 is the main workhorse).

Been so busy lately this is the first "playtime" I've really had with the 7D. Most of the video shots seen here were 1080p 25fps and were shot in full manual, IS on. All handheld and the odd still in there. Edited in Final Cut Studio on a 2009 Mac Pro (with minor image grading, then converted to 720p for web). Aim was to get it to a "pleasantly seasonal 2 minute sequence", arranged around some very good royalty free music I own. I hope I succeeded!

did you do the zoom pos-production ?
congrats sharp eye!

@rpgdressage Yep, it's impossible with a "naked" 7D to do any slow creeping zooms like this so all was done in post. Well spotted and cheers for the compliment!

very nice, what ISO were you running at in some of those shots? I find with my 7d i get quite grainy images even when i take it down to the very low end...

@2wenty4frames Long time ago I did this but from memory some of the low light shots were around ISO800, certainly not above 1200. If you need better low light get faster glass (I have an old ex OM1 Olympus 50mm F1.8 which, with a cheap EOS adapter off ebay, is amazing in low light).... or get a 5DMkII (or 1DMkiV!) for better low light performance - if the budget allows!
