Cancun Tigers - In the Summer of 2008, Last Chance for Animals (LCA) began working with an undercover operative in Cancun to expose the plight of "Pepe's Tigers." Prior to 2004, Pepe's Restaurant let tourists "dine among caged tigers." After Hurricane Wilma hit in 2004, the restaurant was practically destroyed, and never repaired. The tigers live in this deteriorating building, caged, with little or no interaction. They are not fed or cared for properly, and are suffering. I think it would be great if you kept the supporters of this cause updated. I hear conflicting reports. Peta says that Profepa has seized the animals, but tourists say they are still at the old restaurant in Cancun. What's going on?

Sadly, one of Pepe's tigers gave birth to 5 cubs last friday...2 of them are already death due to neglect from the owner. He is keeping the remaining cubs in a filthy old restaurant right on Kukulkan street that is filled with dog feces, flies, mosquitos, etc.. he has no money to feed or take the cubs to the vet...they will probably die soon if mexican authorities don't intervene...this guy is mentally ill and prefers to see them die of starvation and disease before sending them to a safe place
