Lyrics:

Ooh, mama
Well look whats been done
You can only see the stars
After a setting sun

You run for the money
You dont even know about wild mountain honey

Come on mama
Heal this lonesome man
Grow the tree of wholeness
In this desert land

Come on children
Now learn how to run
By heaven, the stars, the moon and the sun

Come on papa
Your end is the means
Dont trade your love and goodness
For the golden machine

You run for the money
You dont even know about wild mountain honey

  • My dad used to play this for me when I was a little kid.....amazing how the memories arise and bring my youthful, living father back to me for these 5 minutes.

  • Steve Miller is an under-appreciated musical genius. The master of intricate simplicity. He has written some truly beautiful music. I forgive him for all the pop, but hey, ya gotta make a livin'! One of his best is "Baby's House."

  • @McMonkeyTron my girl knows i love wild mountain honey

  • this is one great song for laid back cook-out even in the winter.

thanks for the groooooovie tune rockandfunk.

  • one of the best

  • the earliest of my stoner dayze use to lay back eyes closed n let my head spin to the dreamy sounds in this song

  • steve miller is one of the most flexiable artists of all time from jazz to rock.

  • Wonderfully ethereal track and imho the best on the album 'fly like an eagle'.

I love the subtle use of sitar.

Makes most of todays music sound inept!

  • This song brings back so many memories from my college days and the beer blasts we used to have at the Student Center. Rio rocked!!!

  • Back when this was new,we reveled that we had him,and a hundred more. All playing and making whole albums or song cycles of great music.I saw him multiple times, with multiple other bands at the same shows
