Panning over the surface of the Moon (at 30 arc-sec/second) with a ToUcam camera and 10" LX200 SCT. Passing clouds cause the Moon to dart in and out. The lunar terminator is the line that separates the "night and day" sides of the Moon. Most of the lunar contrast on any given night that can be viewed through a telescope is seen closest to the terminator. Please visit OakRidge Observatory at http://www.pbase.com/adamstuart

  • The lunar terminator is the "line" that separates night and day on the Moon. Most of the contrast on the lunar surface can be appreciated along this area. Panning further east (right in the video) shows less lunar contrast but a brighter Moon. Still images of the Moon and lunar detail can be found in 3 galleries on my Website. The adress is listed under "About this Video".

    Enjoy!
