  • nice job

  • @etlambert Thanks this gtr sat in a store unplayable for several years,,, It's the best one of these after set up I've heard.

  • Wow Dan - you're still as awesome as I remember you from the early 80's! I met you through mutual friends, Paul and Barb, when you were living with your dad. Your dad entertained my son young while you tried teaching me to play guitar - hah, hah! But I still have the Washburn that you "fixed" - enlarged sound hole, scalloped nut, calibrated saddle, and pins all from ivory. It's still stands out in a crowd with an amazing voice. The years have been good to you!

  • Thanks,,Ponygirl,

I still miss Alaska. There is much more music & pickin going on in N.C. however ..

  • i have heard of zane he is a great player. my buddy had a guitar worked on by you dan and it is a killer box. do you still use walrus ivory?

  • Not very often,,it makes a gtr bright,,most often use cow bone for nuts & saddles ,,,ebony or pernambuco for pins.

Recently I've done Hippo ivory for mando nuts,,that's the best ivory on the planet.

  • That gtr is a John Arnold that belongs to Zane Fairchild,, the bridge pins are pernambuco . That I made for Zane. Pernambuco has been used for violin bows for centuries .

Also makes wonderful bridge pins that sound great.

  • what guitar is pictured at the start of the video and what kind of bridge pins are installed in the guitar? great stuff

  • I'm very busy at this time,,,,the best way I can serve my customers is to get things turned around quick. I do most of my work alone.

    Thanks

  • Yes, why not join us on the UMGF?!

We would love to hear from you there. Great job on this guitar.
