You gotta have the paperwork from the US to be ab le to register it here in Sweden.. I suspect they caught it during the paperwork thing..
It was most likely a restoration car since it's cheaper to buy a restored Vette in Sweden than to import a restored one from the US..
Besides.. Most american "restorations" isn't exactly worth the money ;)

i remember seeing this on good morning america or something like that, where they returned the vette to the owner like on tv. all i know is i will kill someone if i find out my dads 69 vette gets stolen.

HAHAHA, This shit is so crazy, 15 years ago my dads f-250 utility bed mechanics truck was stolen from his shop. about 40grand in tools in it. 5 years later he got a call from Miami port authority, they found it in a container along with MANY other trucks bound for south america. It still had his tools in it an all his paper work in the glove box.

Nice car and a good story. What's this got to do with hating swedes by the way?

The Swede that bought the car lost both the car and hos money - there are no method to check for that old offences. American recods at it's best...
It took me once almost two months to have a title transfered to me in the US. Here in Sweden it takes one or two days...
