Video effects are one thing, but most importantly is knowing how to edit...when to cut, transition, etc at the right time (even down to a quarter of a second) and not get a bunch of footage that is going to bore people. Good videos have a certain flow to them. And you didn't add the KungFuChaosFilms annotation.

About the hate you got on your xbox video: The dudes saying that were most-likely 12 or 13 year olds, lol. EVERYONE gets hate comments when they upload a video. I hope you didn't take any of it to heart.
