Carina sings "The Wizard and I" at talent show

Carina is a 11 year old girl who has been teased from K-5th grade due to her ADHD problems and having a mother who speaks with mechanical voice after throat cancer. So it took guts for her to enter the 5th grade year talent show singing to "The Wizard and I" from the Broadway show "Wicked". She earns some respect in the eyes of her peers and an encore (check out video "Carina's encore")Please give her feedback with ratings or comments, it really builds her confidence. Just as a side note- the CD does over power her voice at the beginning and she struggles to get heard over the CD but around 3:14 the music teacher turned the CD down a bit and then you hear more of Carina's voice and she seems to come out of the vocal shadow, so to speak and that's where she really shines until the end of the song.
Also, since this topic has come up many, many times I want to clarify the point that she is wearing a "skort", not a skirt. A skort is a pair of shorts with a flap in front to make it look like a skirt. She attended school that day and had her clothes been indecent she would have been sent home for the school has a strict dress code. It was also 110 degrees that day, so her choice was practical. I would not let any of my children out the front door if they were not dressed modestly. And if you factor in the angle of the camera, you realize that it is not as short as it appears. I hope this clears things up for I am really tired of having to defend her choice of clothes when it's her performance in the face of adversity that is the point of this video being posted in the first place. Aww that sucks ppl made fun of her :( I have ADHD too but my friends and everyone accept me and enjoy when i entertain them with my hyperness :) LOOL anyhoo
I reeaaaallly love her voice :) and you should tell her that like half of celebrities have ADHD :D People with ADHD are amazing hehe also normal people :)

Yeah get an instrumental track so you can actually hear her it's hard to even tell how well she's singing.

Great job Carina! Don't let ADHD get in the way of your dreams. I was diagnosed with as a kid also. Just remember its not a disability, as long as you don't let be. ;) Good Luck and don't give up on your dreams.
