i think the reason why air jamaica was operating at a loss is because they have a fleet comprising of boeing, airbus and mcdonnel douglas aircraft. in which they would have to keep hiring more or retraining their pilots and maintenance teams in order for them to adjust to the specs and the operating standards of these airplanes which are different in sizes,if the jamaican government was only using boeng 737 for the entire fleet, air jamaica would be looking to buy boeng 787 dreamliners now.
@keniquelawrence even if they were using an all boeing fleet they would have still met the same fate as the incompetence of management were destined to fail
@keniquelawrence not really since the various fleet type cover different time span over the history of JM life.all older types were eventually replace for commonality of an all airbus fleet of a320,a321 and a340 as part of a viable plan which fit in well. bad management of the company that were adding unprofitable routes leasing brand new a/c at ridiculous fees, poor decision making n waste of revenue, top heavy management and over paid pilot help doom the airline
@collegeman980 the b727 in air Jamaica old livery 1:200 is inflight, the small b727 1:400 in new livery is gemini,A321 scale 1:200 is gemini,A340 scale 1:400 is gemini,A340 1:500 is herpa
