On April 14, 2011 the First Suburbs Project held a meeting in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Their main speaker was David Rusk and he came to outline their plans for "helping" the poor.
Their idea? Instead of building the failed centralized Projects of the past, where the waste and failure is on full display, they want to move the poor into suburban areas and hide them among those who have worked hard, saved and sacrificed to achieve their dream. They want to place the poor among those who pay their own bills and have respect for others around them who also worked hard to get where they are, as if that will somehow instill in these people the same respect and work ethic.
They want to provide the poor with "success" on a silver platter.
