My first event, decorating in a very plain church hall for a post-wedding reception. The bride and groom were married two years ago in the Philippines, but the bride and her little girl only just arrived in the states a few months ago. The church the family attends wanted to make the new bride and her little girl feel welcomed and to give them a shower/reception as they needed many things for their home. I chose a beach/sea theme with aqua blue and white being the main color palette with touches of natural fiber using raffia ribbon on the votives and in the hand-made napkin rings. The sanddollar playing a prominent role in the decor. The cake was created by Bakery di Europa in Bradenton, FL, 6753 Manatee Ave., 941-795-1719. They created a beautiful custom cake for half the price of Publix.
