thats a big small scale locomotive and its is a shame they killed it, steam is not as easy to find as it once was, though there is plenty of traines and museums around the midwest, and a live big mainliner called the 765 around where I live only a 30 minute drive or so for me, but I have yet to ride on her.

Wow, this is realy a big model loco !

@mikado1555 Time to take it to the local TV and radio media people. Call it: "SAVE OR TRAIN HERITAGE!!"

My dad and I led the complete rebuild of the locomotive and cars and she has been running great since 2005.
I have been told that the dept of parks and rec is in charge of the train and they make the decisions about it, yet I know for a fact that they did not decide to remove it from Clinch Park. The Bay Front Planning committee decided it did not fit their idea of a multi-generational park and have not said why they think that.
The Traverse City politics have killed the train.

This is the last year for the train. The Bay Front Planning committee removed the train from the Clinch Park plans (construction will start this fall) with little or no discussion according to commissioner Jim Carruthers and Gary Howe. No one else on the Bay Front (T. Michael Jackson, Jennifer Jaffee, Nate Elkins, Michael Borer, Rick Shimmel and Russ Soyring) have responded to inquiries about the train.

Beautiful engine!
-
The boiler can probably produce (calculated) around 6-9 horsepower.
-
How powerful are those engines? 30hp?
The calculated tractive effort is 527 lbs.
