Does NBC's *Heroes* Include 9/11 Conspiracy Theory Allegory?

NBC's great series "Heroes" never struck me as a political show until I noticed a recent plot twist that seemed like an allegory for a 9/11 conspiracy theory. I put together these short clips so you can decide for yourself if I'm right.

I realize this is old as dirt, but this sounds less like a 9/11 conspiracy and more like they lifted the plot from WATCHMEN. Also consider that it's a freaking super-hero show, and that seems a lot more plausible.

Yeah, the plot is probably taken from Watchmen more than the 9/11 conspiracy theory that the towers were taken down to drum up support for an unpopular president and some middle eastern wars. Though, it would have been interesting if it was the other way around. I would have liked to see where the show went from there if that were the case.

The movie ends with them blaming Doctor Manhattan instead of creating an outside alien threat like in the graphic novel.
