Thick and thin exercise mats are used for different activities, as thinner mats are best for yoga and stretching, while thicker mats are ideal for sit-ups and floor exercises. Use the appropriate exercise mat with advice from an AFAA-certified personal trainer in this free video on workouts.

  • Shawn,

Can you please recommend where I can find good mat cheap. I need thicker I will be doing sit ups on it and can use the cushion for my knees. I recently have lost 130 lbs I don't want alot of impact to my knees. Also can you share a jumping jack modified version? I am still trying to adjust to the feet movements as I am more body heavy with weight in legs. Haven't done these things in years...

    Thanks! M.
