Townhouse on fire in Ashburn 01/28/2010

Me and my brother in law were just passing by when we saw smoke half a mile away and saw this townhouse burning. I believe the townhouse was end unit and next townhouse was catching fire as well. "We were speaking foreign language - Farsi"

This super nice family lost everything. There will be a community benefit dinner to help raise money for them. The event is being held Friday, February 5th from 5pm-9pm at Our Saviors Way Lutheran Church located at 43115 Waxpool Rd., Broadlands, VA 20148, 703-858-9254. Italian food will be served and cash and gift cards for the family will be accepted. If all who witnessed this fire would make a donation to this family, just think of all the help we could really give them.

I live across the Lake, and I can assure you this family is a great family who took care of their home and especially their backyard. It's an awful situation but Luckily no one got hurt. I agree this cannot be qualified as COOL especially if this family has lost all of their precious memories and belongings. Nothing can replace them. I wish them good luck.

yea, i felt bad as well since we just bought a townhouse, it sucks for the owners because the home owner insurance will cover their house but not their personal items in the house

I wouldn't exactly categorize a fire as "cool!" That family has lost home and all of their belongings - they have nothing now and have to start over. The fire was amazing, yes, but definitely not cool.
