I went many months without mastering mounting. I can remember hanging on telephone poles ant the side of my van to get on. Then one night the Tonight Show had a unicyclist on he was riding a small one and from there mounted the giraffe.
Never touched the floor between the 2. From that example I then took a day or 2 to learn.
The Johny Carson show he also hopped on Johny's desk.

Yes. It is very much easier to ride compared to the small one because you can make pin-point turns easier because of the lower center of gravity. Also, I don't get why it is a "rare" unicycle. They're just as easy to come by as smaller ones. I get the same problem with using the little one after as I always 'over mount' it. VERY easy to ride if you can ride a small one. mounting.......not so. I've just mastered it after 5 months.

I am sure, It actually is a lot easier to ride then a smaller one. Just harder to get on. Once you learn to free mount one it is impressive.
I am on my second Giraffe and have had a total of 6 smaller ones.
I take mine to the firemen Wet-downs and give the kids rides on my shoulders, and sometime another one or 2 in my arms.
The problem is I've been riding the giraffe o much I am having problems riding the smaller one.

I GUESS it's not too hard to learn if you can ride a normal unicycle properly... but I'm not completetly sure...
