OLD TEXT FOR ARCHIVAL PURPOSES:

Project Vega, now called Last Bastion, is an in-development first person shooter made by an extremely small group of guys. The engine is made from scratch and uses DirectX 9. We are currently looking to partner up with a publisher to help get this game finished!

Why are we making this? Basically, it comes down to the fact that modern games arent cutting it for us. Many of them (especially first person shooters) tend to be drab and boring looking, and strive for realism in both gameplay and visuals. We want to do something different - something colorful and interesting, and just plain fun to play!

I apologize for some things not being done! I realize that the models, effects, and HUD elements have a long way to go, but we're all doing the best we can. Everyone working on the visual elements of the game has school full-time, so it's difficult to manage both large workloads, and obviously school is more important.

If you want to contact or stay up to date with us, you can do that a number of ways:

NOTES ABOUT RESOURCES USED IN THIS VIDEO/THE GAME:
The textures are from Unreal Tournament 2004. We are merely using them as placeholder textures until we can make our own.

The music is from Quake Mission Pack No. 1: Scourge of Armagon. It's great! Check it out on Steam if you don't already have it!

  • There's a new screenshot at the link in the description!

  • will this ever get released? its been over a year now

  • @DemonSoul89 Yeah, it will. We're putting together a 1 level demo for QuakeCon, and then this fall we'll have a 3 level pre-alpha for sale/donations to help finance the whole game. But new stuff is coming soon!

  • cartoon shading like.....darn i forget it

  • @vikocho123 Cel-shading may be the term you're looking for!

  • Will this Support Multiplayer like DM, TDM, CTF, etc.

  • @Btushinsky83 Probably not, I'm afraid :( This is our first game, so we're trying to keep the scope somewhat limited since we don't have a lot of resources. Eventually, we'll expand into that sort of thing, though!
