I played through this hack many times, even beating it on both modes, but I never saw the portion of the level with Gilgamesh's theme. Is this only in the old version? The version I played has enhanced graphics as well.

I believe this is an old version considering where I downloaded it from. I've seen videos of this hack from other people with the new graphics added in though. :)

Unfortunately, I'm unsure of any differences that exist between versions.

What people dont know is 4in1 means you have to get 4 stars in one level.

True, but in XXXX advancing from one area to the next is pretty straight-forward because of the "randomness" factor. Since the only real pipes that are hard-coded are the ones in the areas of the hard stage, it is very unlikely that there are hidden pipes elsewhere. I do recall there being that pipe underwater that will lead to one of the bonus areas with all the coin blocks though - that's the only one I can think of right now. :P

I just jump everywhere to find pipes that lead to hidden areas. Who knows where I'll go when I hit down or right on the pipe.

Well generally the area you're sent to is determined by your time. For example, I was sent to the area that leads to the "hard stage" by entering the pipe when the time was 775. However, another time would have sent me somewhere else. So it would take a while, but use a save-state and test out where the pipe sends you with each set time. That'd be the best way. LOL! :P

At which specific point would unlimited jumps help? Do you mean for during the first stage or the hard stage? :P

Yeah, I tried getting through that part the first time as Small Mario - and it is easier to do it that way - but then I saw at the end that you had to be Big Mario to survive. The glitch itself is rather annoying to do if you aren't used to it - which I'm not. LOL! xD

I would enjoy watching you play through the hard stage if you ever wanted to. Perhaps you'd even discover another shortcut! LOL! :P

Yeah, the game is basically a puzzler.

And in that room before Bowser's castle (in this video), the part where it has one block on the floor & 2 coming from the ceiling, I forgot about the glitch to get past that. At least I can remember that for now on.

Well if I remember correctly, you got to Bowser's castle by only collecting one star. That IS pretty weird - LOL! I don't know how to explain that. As for going somewhere other than Bowser's castle, sometimes that happens. If you watch my first video of the XXXX hack, it took me a handful of tries just to get to Bowser's castle once. However, sometimes you get there on the first try. As you pointed out on your video, it is completely random - but that's one of many reasons why I like this hack.
