  • What I would have given to watch Schoenberg and Gershwin play tennis.

  • This is great - thanks to the Schoenberg family for making this important material available.

  • The entire Schoenberg corpus of music is streamed free on the Schoenberg Center website in Austria. Thus this "most inaccessible" of great composers (in the sense of difficult modernism) is ironically the most accessible. And thanks to the Schoenberg family (as in this clip) showing that this composer who is often unfairly derided as a musical monster was very much a human being.

  • Thankyou this is wonderful.

  • Oops! "his" means "Schoenberg's" in my post.

  • Robert Craft said that he was startled, when he would visit the Schoenberg house in the 1940s, to suddenly realize that the kids running in and out of the house were not his grandkids, but his own kids.

  • This is great! So interesting. I am thankful.

  • wow. This was really great. Thanks for posting and thank you to the Schoenberg family for being so generous in sharing all this.
