  • I HAVE A HEAT PUMP BUT THE HEAT WORKS AND MY AC DOESNT WORK. THE MOTOR OUTSIDE DOESNT WORK BUT IT HAS POWER. CAN IT BE THAT I HAVE A LEAK IN THE COIL AND CAN I FIX THE COIL

  • @mzkan82 If the outdoor motor doesn't work then you might want to replace it first.

  • @Mrenforcer78 You could check the relay to be sure that the line voltage is on the common terminal and the load voltage is set up on the Normally Open terminal. If it is an you're getting continuity between the terminals when the system is off then the relay is bad, as in stuck in the closed position.

  • Safety first! Don't put your hands in the cabinet until you verify no voltage even with the breaker or disconnect off. Also discharge you caps. I can give prime examples of disconnects not opening with the lever down! I've been cap bit a time or two also. Make a habit of keeping your hands off uninsulated parts of your tools even with dead circuits.

  • @anruiz85. check the amp draw , and compare it to the data plate. might be going off on internal overload. replace motor.

  • Wrong! you must pull the leads off the relay. Because your relay may be shorted to ground, there for giving you continuity to ground. You dont want to replace a blower motor when your problem is the relay!
