after reading an article 3 yrs ago about the salmon farms, I stopped ordering salmon in restaurants because 95% of them will serve you the cheaper, inferior, unhealthy farmed variety. when You purchase fresh salmon in a market it is easy to distinguish between wild (vibrant dark reddish orange) & the farmed (pale orange). the farmed salmon actually receive cartenoid supplements to turn their flesh orange. If they did not do this the flesh would be almost a greyish color.
I say the same as Arild below here - pressure the Norwegian government on this matter, as it is a disgrace. Our minister of fishery is an owner (her family as far as I know) of a large fish farm in Norway.
