This is a levitating one magnet no bearing Bedini motor.I am using 4 N38 25mmx6mm disk magnets to levitate the rotor which has a diametricaly magnetised central magnet.The one point of friction is where the rotor is in contact with the headstock but it may be possible to levitate it at this point with a repulsing magnet or some form of magnetic bearing.All the magnets have their north poles facing towards the left and the rotor magnets are offset in relation to the base magnets by about 1cm.

  • Hi Kyle.I still have it but some of the magnets are on a pendulum at the moment.

    Not really done much charging with this as my axle was not the straightest so high rpms was not really possible but I bullt this more as a magnetic bearing levitation test.Cheers.Jonny

  • @333kgb.Remove the core for now.Try removing your charge battery.Spin the rotor and can you tell me if the neon lights up?Have you got an amp meter in series with the positive of the run battery ?This is useful to see if the circuit is firing and also to see if there is a problem and you are drawing to much current.I will send you step by step instructions to build a bedini circuit if that would help.Jonny

  • @jonnydavro Thanks alot! I tried what you said but the wheel still came to a stop. So I switched the battery cables and ended up blowing the 1N4007 diode. LOL im using drill bits for my core could that be the problem for the wheel stoping.

  • Hi 333kgb.I think i see your problem.The 24g inner wire should be connected to emitter,you have it connected to collector.The inner 20g wire should go to collector.You have it connected to primary negative.The diode for the charge battery goes from collector to charge battery positive but make sure the cathode(end with stripe)is connected to charge battery positive.Neon direction does not matter.Hope this helps and let me know how you get on.Jonny

  • The potentiometer is connected to a 24 gauge outside coil wire. My 1N4007 diode is connected to the positive on the secondary battery. Then the outside 20 gauge wire runs to negative on the secondary battery and on the positive on the primary battery.
