  • In the uk Serotonin Syndrome may be common in drug services were anti-depressants are prescribed to people who either abuse amphetamine or are prescribed dexamphetamine medication, anti-depressants should not be prescribed by this kind of service. Although dexamphetamine is not advisable under the NICE guidelines ‘it’s still prescribed’. Clozaril or Clozapine she only be started on a ward were 24 hour hobs can be done then regular visits to the Clozril nurse for bloods.

My daughter suffered a serotonin toxicity seizure a day after beginning Luvox (fluvoxamine), with convulsive thrashing and uncontrollable spitting. Her physician prescribed it to replace Prozac, with only a day between the two prescriptions, so she still had plenty of Prozac in her system on top of the Luvox.

  • Thanks for putting this video on YouTube, from me in australia :)

  • the pharmacist seems so incompetent in this video. as a pharmacist, im definitely more assertive when i speak to prescribers. i know just as much, and quite frankly, i share liability with the prescriber on each prescription i fill (50% on me, 50% on them) as the law is written in my state.

  • Medical sativa.

  • Is LUVOX Safe?

  • My Psychiatrist diagnosed me with seretonin syndrome and sent me an official apology letter. They discontinued my SSRI medication and now when I've taken any new drug they call me every day for the first 2 weeks to see how the drug's working. Sadly my GP was the person who told me it was safe to take Triptam at the same time which is what caused the problem in the first place. My psych also sent a letter to him education him on seretonin syndrome.
