Here is the Dynam PA-18 Super Cub flying in "NOT SO GOOD" weather conditions. We were experiencing winds between 15 - 20Kms per hour (it was post cyclonic conditions) the township of Innisfail and surrounds, just had a cyclone pass through the district only days before. Anyway, the little plane handled the conditions as well as could be expected!! Manufactured entirely with almost indestructible close bead foam technology, this little plane is ready to fly in under 30 minutes (add the wings, tailplane, fin / rudder, and decals to the fuselage), all the electrics are already installed (receiver, servos, brushless motor / ESC electronic speed controller etc). Charge up the supplied 11.1v 1250mAh LiPoly battery, and put ( 8 ) x "AA" batteries (NOT SUPPLIED WITH KIT) into the radio controller, and your ready to take to the skies. The plane is capable of inverted flight, barrel rolls, loops, trick stalls, and is quite fast!!! The aircraft controller is available in Mode ( 1 ) throttle on the right, or Mode ( 2 ) throttle on the left, and is Australian Standards Compliant ( 36Mhz )
The plane is available through: "Computergaz R/C Helicopters Australia see the email address below:

  • Part-3 Dynam PA-18 how to fly.

As the aircraft approaches the ground, at a few feet off the ground, pull back a little on the elevator to induce a mild stall (flair out), and then let the plane down onto the ground with throttle fully off, and let it coast to a full stop (ensure no obstacles / people are in its path).

That is the basics in a nutshell, I will endeavour to film a training session with the Dynam, to show a complete flight.

  • Part-2 on flying the Dynam PA-18.

Once height has been attained, and the aircraft is trimmed, try some slow turns with aileron / elevator mixing (a little elevator is needed when turning to compensate for the expected loss in height), this is normal. After some turns, practice some landing approaches (power on at this stage) as you are only practising. To land, give yourself plenty of approach, and pull the throttle to about idle speed, and using elevator and ailerons let the plane glide down.

  • i bought can you give some advice on how you should fly it

  • This plane is not much different to a real plane, it is best to take off into the wind if possible with only a little up elevator applied (not too much as you can stall the plane). With full power applied and the above elevator pitch, keep the plane level as she gently rises up into the air, when good height is attained, slowly bring the throttle back to about 3/4 position (cruise speed). At a good height, you may have to trim the aircraft (properly trimmed aircraft just about fly themselves).

  • I am a decent pilot. I bought one and it is very flimsy and poorly made. The tail wheel broke after 3 smooth landings, the control horns broke and the airplane does not fly well. Save your money.

  • Horses for courses.

Not everyone will like this plane, it is in the hands of the flier (how good or bad it is).

I personally, have had many hours with my Dynam, and have only replaced the tail wheel once (good and bad landing surfaces).

Sorry you didn't like your experience, but there are other Cub derivatives to look at.

  • This is a cool little CHEAP plane, i have never flewn eny RC, just some flight sim traning, i flew mine today and landed it in a field with no damage. I have worked out the small "errors" that this model have. RE-Epoxy you controle horns, rear wheel and battery compartment then your all set, the standard epoxy on this plane is crap so just make sure to look everything over so nothing can fall off. But if you want a Cub look at Art-Tech J-3 Piper Cub 400 it's nearly same price and way more detail

  • this is impressive i have one one on order but have only heard negative reviews

thanks for the vid will valdiate my purchase

  • i put an APC 7x4 on it the original prop was said to be hard on the little motor

  • i like how it gets pushed sideways in a sidewind-- very scale looking -- kool music, not rude rock - @3:32 it got a hit of wind ,and sit hovering for a few seconds- very cool- im not a fan of the "2 screw" control horn - more complicated than the normal z bent wire- the battery door is less than A+ so i just packing tape over the battery , its all good - id rather buy a plane that wasnt plug and play so i can find stuff to fix on it -gets me more involved - plan to maiden it soon

  • thanks computergaz
