Landing A Cessna 182 in a 26 Knot wind

This is me landing a Cessna 182 in a 26 knot wind. There was a minor crosswind of 30 degrees. Also the alternator regulator failed, hence I lost some nav equipment and the plane would not start again.

How do you jumpstart a dead airplane? Its simple with the 182. There is a plug on the left side of the tail that takes a special plug connected to two 12 volt batterys. The plane is 24 volts so it needs two 12 volt car batterys. Connect the plug, turn the key, and its ready to go! Of course to replace a regulator is about 400 dollars. Airplanes are expensive!!
On this windy day I clocked an airspeed of 165 knots, of course with a tailwind of 26 knots my groundspeed was around 185 to 190 knots. I broke 200 mph in a Cessna. Yay! :-)

That's always the way it goes:

(1) the charging system always goes south when you need it,

(2) it's always the most expensive part which goes south, and

(3) the phone always rings at the 3 worst times:

--(a) in the sack w/a hottie

--(b) on the throne

--(c) on final.

Yes! It is exciting! It is an experience you will never forget. Words cannot describe the feeling you will feel when you are by yourself in an airplane at 16, or any age. Hopefully you are able to do that when you are older.

Awesome dude! I've done it many times! Its a blast. I did it when they were switching classes. Got a bunch of attention. Start living or start dying. Flying is probably cooler than middle school. I agree.

Had a lesson yesterday winds 22 G 30 I took off did turns climbs descents slow flight usual stuff but my flight instructor handled the landing...great job!

@JakeTheRocker1 Try the young eagles. I have rode in two aircraft, a 172 and a cherokee 235. i prefer the cherokee.
