@IzaFaqat Ok, you are still not graspnig that NO ONE but you said ANYTHNG about things comng from nothing no matter how far back you go. Remember I mentioned TIME and other DIMENTIONS? You are arguing a nonsensical idea into circles of your own making. Since you can't stop obsessing on that idea, I'm finished.
-
@Mozart1220 ok you still haven't grasped it i notice. lets say we start at the big bang then go to theory B that explains how the big bang came to be, then theory C that explains how theory B came to be and theory D which explains how theory C came to be. AT ONE POINT this will INEVITABLY reach a point where SOMETHING CAME FROM NOTHING. otherwise you're claiming SOMETHING was ALWAYS here. this is basic logic.
-
@IzaFaqat I'm still wondering where you got this obsession with "something from NOTHING, which has never been claimed. No one knows where the matter and energy in the Big Bang came from, but it's a pretty safe bet it came from somewhere (or some TIME which is an interesting hypothosis) Other dimentions have even been discussed. But no one to my knowledge says it came from "nothing'. Maybe you should drop that argument now.
-
@Mozart1220 the big bang theory wouldnt be inconceivable even if it hadn't been supported by strong evidence, but something coming from nothing is. like i said at one point you'll have to go back far enough to say this all came from nothing, its impossible according to our modern science.
-
@IzaFaqat At one point we couldn't concieve of the Big bang, because we didn't have pwerful enough telescopes, and no one knew about "red shift" that told us the universe was expanding. Just because we don't know how to detect whet was before the Big Bang right now does not mean we never will. And it's no reason to assume it must be a "god" of any kind. It doesn't mean it isn't, but so far there is no evidence of such.
-
@Mozart1220 Of course no one would claim that, but it's the only logical solution. Because no matter what explanation given you can always say, what about before that; infinitely, and at one point you'll have to pack it in and admit at one point there was nothing. And we can't really study beyond the big bang because the BB created the universe AS WE KNOW IT, whatever was before it doesn't exist. Point is, so illogic is found in the pure-science folk and the religious folk, no diff whatsoever
-
@IzaFaqat Yes, there is evidence for the big bang, but none for God. I never said the Big Bang proves there is no God. I said there is evidence for one, and none for the other. NO one EVER said the universe came from "nothing". Science just hasn't gotten that far back yet. Why you keep insisting that science claims the universe came from nothing is a mystery greater than the actual topic.
-
@Mozart1220 see when you do what i did, it doens't work because i actually make sense. you said there's no evidence for god but there is for the big bang. but thats equating them (i.e., if big bang happened god is nonexistant) its untrue. see at some point in science you'd have to simply say the universe came from nothing, cuz but logic shit just cant be here. by the same token we say god came from nothing, kinda funny being that if the universe can be from nothing (making us) why cant god?
-
@IzaFaqat Holy shit this must be hurting YOUR brain! I NEVER SAID THE BIG BANG WAS A SUBSTITUTE FOR GOD. I SAID THERE IS NO GOD. Period. Just because we don't have all the answers YET, it does not even begin to suggest that THERE MUST BE A SUPREME BEING. The very idea of creation suggests "something from nothing" unless you want to explain where "god" came from. Irt stil comes down to "what came before?" And I choose to follw that which provides observable, measurable evidence, not myth.
-
@Mozart1220 holy shit, this must be hurting your brain. once again i said no one said the scientific theories present today ARE WRONG, i believe the big bang happened but the big BANG IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR GOD OR AN EXPLANATION FOR WHERE THE UNIVERSE CAME FROM, because what was BEFORE the big bang and before that and before that, times infinity. inevitably you will have to come to a point where u say SOMETHING CAME FROM NOTHING. way beyond the big bang.
Eh, religion needs to be poked at. It's fucking foolish nonsense. Sure, you're allowed to believe, just as I'm allowed to say that religious beliefs are for idiots that don't know how to ask for evidence before believing what they're told.

Goodness, why is everyone so angry and vindictive on here? Olbermanns comment was a playful jab, nothing malicious.
