NUKINFUTS Qualifiying Burnout at Summernats 25

This is the begining of all the controversy with Summernats claiming that Steve Nogas did not Qualify for Sundays finals because he did not obey the fire marshalls directions, claiming the fire marshall told Steve not to start the car after it stalled when contact was made with the fence, then claimed to tell Steve to shut the car down once he re-started it. Clearly you can see at 0:48 we hit the wall and at no point did the fire Marshall tell us to shut it down, The Fire Marshall then signaled to the approaching tow vehicle that he wasnt needed at 1:49 and waved us through to exit the pad at 2:02 of the footage. Summernats have since told us we never qualified on friday but at 2:21 you can clearly see the official give steve a qualifying ticket and saying well done mate.

@taselonolesat Steve has admitted his wrong doings, and on a personal level is deeply regretful for his actions, if you have the chance to speak to him personally you will see that all the messages of legend and king and hero definatly dont sit well with him almost uncomfortably and embarressed, as he definatly does not condone what he has done, but we have posted this video up so everyone can see our side of this TWO sided story so that a good bloke who had a brain snap can be fairly heard.

@eichkay This is not what we want, we do not want any disruption or retailiaton to the event, we enjoy summernats as much and anyone else. I say we because Steve is my uncle, and we have a crew that go to every event, Steve, his two sons, myself and a couple of mates. We are all more dissapointed than angry at the events of the weekend and just want a fair resolutions to be found.

At what stage did you see the fire Marshall tell him to turn it off or not drive it off? That what the reasoning behind the disqualification... Which didn't seem to exist as we got a qualifying slip at the end. And flicked it round???? Watch some other vids and see what a flick round is.... Gimme a spell!

@bdking29 he shouldnt be embarrassed or ashamed for standing up for himself and the others that that could happen to. He did however go a little overboard but that's what those people paid to come see was a show and well being a performer you dont want to upset your fans you want to give them what they came for ....those track officials should be the ones ashamed. Good Job sucks it had to go that way but i think he handled it quite well for letting loose a little more than he should have.

Made great viewing and people are still talking about it, a ban would be totally unfair. Looking forward to seeing more of NuckinFuts at events to come! People talking about this wrecking and giving the event a bad name Summernats may not be for you. People came to see burnouts not power hungry people stopping the fun. As seen from the footage there was no danger of officials being hit/hurt ect. So lets get on with it and look forward to more great shows from Steve.

Best part of my summernats by far... was there in the grandstand for all 3 days of the burnouts and got every bit of it on video... Your a legend mate there should be more like you. That security gaurd made it personal by trying to kick the car and confront you...there no need for that shit, after all we are at a burnout comp what the F$%k ??
