Alliance Regional Corps trailer series "What Will You Discover?" begins with Sergeant Aarrec Corrigan, Red Squad Leader. The ARC is an Alliance-based guild based on the Star Wars Galaxies server Starsider, run by former veterans of the Galactic Roleplaying Community of Chimaera.

I don't think it'll make that big an impact. SWG has something that almost no other MMO has; it's an incredible sandbox with vast worlds and huge roleplay freedom. It mostly just fails in gameplay.
People who play SWG play it for something different from what people will play SWTOR for.

I'll address that one.
If you're going to succumb to SOE's shitty programming and updates then yes, it has a monthly subscription. However if you sign up to a private emulator server you can experience Star Wars the way it was meant to be played.
