A fan's perspective of the AFC Wimbledon vs Luton Town penalty shootout (well most of it) and the post match celebrations. Apologies for some dodgy camera work and too many views of my thumb and the backs of people's heads (I was jumping about).

Been watching the Dons on and off since the Plough Lane days which I first went to as I wanted to watch Liverpool. I was (well still am) a Liverpool fan but Wimbledon's gritty 'never say die' spirit won me over in the early '90's and I became a regular attendee at Selhurst Park until the infamous move to Milton Keynes. I transferred my allegiance to AFC when it was created, became a Dons Trust member and try and get down to Kingsmeadow when I can (not as often as I could/should).

I am not an emotional person but I had a huge lump in my throat today. It really was an amazing moment and all the volunteers involved with running the club deserve a huge amount of credit for the unbelievable success the team has achieved.

I just hope Terry and the boys can kick on in League Two now and cement a place for the Dons in the Football League. South London should be proud tonight!

A couple of final points - while the City of Manchester stadium was great and everyone working there were very friendly I think it is a real shame that this was not played somewhere more local to both teams and with more reasonable ticket prices. It cost me £40+ just for the ticket and substantially more for the travel/other expenses. A local venue with reasonable ticket prices would have attracted a much bigger crowd.

Also commiserations to Luton. I lived there for about 4 years when I was a kid and always keep an eye out for their results. Like the Dons they have suffered at the hands of the 'men in suits' and I sincerely hope that they can claw their way out of the Blue Square Premier next year...

Come on yooooooooouuuuuuu Dons!
