Lonely Planet. Havana, spicy capital of Cuba has got the lot, groovy cars, crumbling architecture and a musician on every corner, everything apparently, except soap! Lonely Planet founder Tony Wheeler gives the low-down. Viva Cuba!

  • I think people have the right to voice their opinion on YouTube any way they wish. That doesn't mean they're telling anyone what to do. You sound arrogant telling people what to say and not say on YouTube. If you were vacationing in Cuba you may have to watch what you say, but not here on YouTube.

  • I suppose YOUR OPINION is more important than that of Locustlimb. I want to read people's view on Cuba's politics. It very much does relate to travel. Ferdinand , maybe you think too much of yourself, DICTATING what people can say here.

  • wow, some are blaming Castro and they forgot US's sanction on Cuba! trust me, If those people say bad thing about Castro in front of me, I will hit them to death! f*cking human with little brain! before making such stupid comments, PLEASE, find out why capitalist hate communist seriously first!

  • I have to agree I'm scared about all these people supporting communism and dictators like Castro :,(

  • Truste me, Castro is evil. And the country gets worse day after day. I left in 2003, and I went back last year. Things were even more destroyed, there was less food, etc...I was really depressed.

Batista was not a good governor, but at least the country kept a decent economy, and people were not starving the way they are now.

It's really sad that you, as a tourist, have more rights than Cubans themselves, in their own country.

At any rate, I hope you have a good time.

  • @enilec68 I`m saying what historians generally agree on. So because you LIVED there, I can`t tell you about history? I`m not saying Castro is perfect, I`m saying he is the lesser of two evil, and his image is STRONLGY distorted by the media, US and otherwise... Whether your grandparents agree or not, is up to them.

No need to be aggressive please :) Sorry I was a bit aggressive in my first post :/

Anyway, my family and I are going to go to Cuba this christmas. Excited!

  • @BillHicks420 how about this? I lived for 13 yrs in Cuba. I was born and raise there. So, don't u f..ing dare to tell me anything about history, cuz I actually lived in Cuba and felt on my skin what it's like to live a f...ing communist regime. My grandparents were alive during Batista's regime, and they all agree in that even though things weren't great back then, they were a lot better than they are right now. U cannot always go by what books say.

  • @enilec68 How about you open a fucking history book? Fulgenica Batista was in charge of the organized crime in Cuba, backed by the US, of course! He was 10X a more brutal oppressive dictator than Fidel ever was!

  • A country like cuba would be paradise if fidel hadnt taken over! I hate communists!!!!!

  • preguntales a los cubanos que es

  • I'm from Greece. Who appointed you representative of what "most people in the world" think? I don't remember voting for you. Just like nobody gets to vote in Cuba.
