@Reverendjim1 not in snow, if that were true we should sell our snowmobiles and run dirt bikes in 4 feet of snow... ever try it? thin is good for going through the snow when u can hit bottom, wider is better on floating on top of deep snow.... all depends on what terrain you're on... i do like skinny's in the mud better.

A thinner tire of equal type, will get better traction. Just look at the orig jeeps from back in the day..

@mobb70 better traction I'm not really sure of. When driving on snow the 2 trains of thought are, tall thin tires or large aired down tires, its all about flotation. Since I run larger tires I normally air down for snow, that increases my footprint which helps support the weight of the jeep to prevent sinking down into the snow. Technology in offroad tires has come along was in the last 20 years. Not saying the old tires can't do it, just saying its easier with the new tires.
