Gravity is the engine and you are the guide! Theres new design and development taking place on the sandstone hills and slickrock waves of Moab, Utah. Borrowing technology and activity from a number of sports as varied as open-wheeled racing to surfing, were pushing gravity powered coasters from beginner level to extreme.
This is the Moab Gravity Machine, a high-tech toy with a simple gravity-powered, old Flexible Flyer type ease-of-use.
Designed, manufactured, and built by inventor/hobbyist, Mike Merritt, the MGM is an aluminum frame with four 10 mountain board wheels. Suspension is independent, and the steering is articulated, which makes possible the intricate maneuvering you see on the video. Were currently using cable brakes on all four wheels. Our next generation of coasters will feature hydraulic brakes, again, designed and hand-built by Mike.
Not only will the MGM provide the thrills of traversing across and down the hills but it will also keep you in shape. Its a great aerobic/cardio workout
The MGM is a cross of kneeboard water skiing, alpine skiing, snow sledding, body-board surfing, and open-wheel racing.
The riders:
Mike, LuDean, Haley, Nick, Doug, Tony, Devin, and Joe.
Music: Low Spark of High-heeled Boys__S. Winwood, as covered by PhilDirt of Moab, Utah, a hobby/garage band known town-wide.

in Moab, you could have fun with anything (or nothing).
That said, I'd love to ride one of these things!
I like the unique way it turns.
