A video tutorial on how to play the Offensive Engineer class in Team Fortress 2 (playing the Engineer class offensively).
With the recently-released Engineer Update, I thought I would step up and create a guide about it, but it turned out to be quite a large subject. Instead, I focused on Offensive Engineering, now encouraged thanks to the release of the Gunslinger. The video discusses other Offensive Engineering aspects than the Gunslinger, of course (Wrangler, using Sentries, etc.).
Hope you enjoy. This took a bit more than a month to make. The original video is 1920x1080 frames at 100 frames per second because I'm crazy like that.

Disclaimer: I am just a random guy that plays in public servers. My main class is the Engineer and I do consider myself relatively good at it, but I am not a professional player.

  • Is there any way to get the insta-sentry deploy without all the other scripts?

  • @FPExooodus Would be faster to just rewrite only that part by hand

  • Whenever I try to delete this script it magically keeps appearing back in the cfg folder, I've even deleted the entire tf2 folder and it still keeps coming back, any help?

  • @Glixes The game will always recreate the cfg files it needs in order to run. Those are the pristine cfg files though, not the custom scripts, so you should not delete them.

  • @WindyPower Not the default ones, its the config file thats not changing. For example when I reset the controls back to default once I die/change classes it resets back to your settings (n for dispencer etc.), it even resets the sound back to full.

  • @Glixes That's impossible >: The game can't come up with the custom files by itself... Maybe it's the Steam cloud thingy that's restoring them.

  • Nice guide, I play mostly as Engineer, and i very love it. I know all what you say, but this guide is awesome. I tell to my TF2 friends to watch this guide. You are the best...

  • really well made video.

  • The standard shotgun is better in 99% of situations, being able to keep firing instead of reloading is almost like always having crits in damage output :P and you don't have to rely on getting kills, or trying to let your sentry get the last hit, which allows the enemy to get off an extra shot and is an all around bad idea.

  • i wish it was your voice instead of big ass white text ! who the hell likes pausing the video everytime there are subtitles

  • Can you make a guide with the new engineer weps?

  • I do not agree completely.Wrench can be used for offensive engineering too.You just need to put a nice little sentry in an elevated position, wrangle it,build a dispenser not far from the cart's position, teleporter in a key spot.

  • I'm an better offensive engy :D

U kinda suck, u have the wrong weaps to be an Offensive Engy :)

  • Anyone able to tell me how to bind "F" to build a mini sentry?
