  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that a seat meant for an elongated bowl on a normal sized bowl or is the bowl also elongated.

Also, are you from South Jersey? If so, what part?

  • @TurboCathedral I'm probably the wrong person to answer that question, I'm no toilet expert - haha.

I am definitely not from the East Coast, quite the opposite in fact; I'm from San Francisco. :)

  • @SJSharkWannabe Ahhh...the SJ in your screen name threw me off....SJ likely standing for South Jersey.

  • @TurboCathedral Oh ok, I was using SJ for San Jose as in "San Jose Sharks", haha :D

  • It only takes two seconds to unblock the jet, dont replace it..

  • @SJSharkWannabe (slaps forehead) Duh!.......Damn....how the hell did I not pick up on that? Flyers fan myself! :-D

  • drain the water and soak the bowl and tank openings with one or two of the grey bottles CLR (Calcium Lime Rust). That may clear the jet and the jet would run well again and have the great flush.

  • @SJSharkWannabe Post that it is for sale and someone will buy. Where are you located?

  • @SJSharkWannabe DON'T replace it. That is the best idea. Unclog the jet when you have time. Don't renovate this classic bathroom. In our house renovation not a SINGLE toilet was replaced.

  • I have a 1968 American Standard in my upstairs bathroom that works like shit (no pun intended). It's probably mostly the terrible plumbing in that bathroom (it was an addition- I have a pretty old house). I also have a Kohler from 1998 downstairs, and that thing is alright I guess. Both toilets will probably be replaced (as well as that entire god-awful upstairs bathroom) in the upcoming renovation of my house (the Kohler MIGHT be reused, knowing my mom- the American Standard is a goner though).
