I have always said that I HATE when TV shows put songs right in the middle of the story, but with the Andy Giffith show I love it! They really had some beautiful music on that show!!!

Yes, he's Jack Prince. He was one of the last big band singers. Sang with Henry Bussey 1937, and Harry James in 1962. He also was the voice for Barney in the episode, "Barney sings with the Choir."
Here's his last television appearance on TNN's "Nashville Now!" in September of 1991, which was a reunion of many of "The Andy Griffith Show" cast members. Prince received a standing ovation for the two songs he sang.

I thought this was Dan Blocker too. Jack Prince previously appeared on Johnny Carson's short-lived CBS series. Ditto for Olan Soule' aka John Masters and one-time TAGS guest star Jamie Farr. Prince shared his experiences with this episode in the book Mayberry 101. Frank Sinatra recorded this song on his album A Swingin' Affair.

@Henbot Rafe hollister was a character on The Andy Griffith Shw. The guy playing him is Jack Prince. Unfortunately the only information on him is with the Andy Griffith Show. There was a mention that he performed on an early kingston Trio album but there is no actual credit for it so not sure about it
