The Names were a Post-Punk band from Brussels (Belgium), formed in 1978 around bassist and songwriter Michel Smordynia. After local gigs as The Passengers, they changed their name in time for their debut single, Spectators of Life, released by WEA in 1979 to test the market for home-grown new wave music. (wikipedia)

  • This makes me so melancholy in a way that I can't explain. I feel this sadness for the singer, because his voice is so haunting and he appears so withdrawn in the video. I really like it, but it has a habit of gripping my emotions.

  • Very talentuous band!!

  • Misterious song, Very evocative lyrics

  • this dude is hilarious. the hell is up with him?

  • Vampire-esque New Wave of the 80s

  • New wave music is awesome!

  • good song but that stare really annoys me

  • @amamuffin I get what you mean, but I'm 19 (going on 20 this year) and I love music like this. While it's true most of today's music is garbage, you have to make an effort to find gold like this. A lot of underground artists today are offering the same creativity and amazingness as bands like this. It's great.
