Comparing Nel coil 9.5 x 5.5 DD sharpshuter 18khz to minelab stock coincentric 7.5 khz coil. Will also touch on target seperation and pinpointing. Using a minelab xterra 305 detetector. Music by Kevin Macloed.

  • Yes I agree the surface targets are much easier to Pin Point with a DD coil, BUT on deeper targets a concentric coil will pin point easier. In my opinion the X-Terra series are some of the best out there for True Multi Purpose use. Yes Minelab needs to step up and make the 10" ellip DD 18.75 kHz coil waterproof, but in reality, most users are not submerging their coils. Gerry in Idaho

  • It sounds as if you had the detector set for 99 Tone when using the aftermarket coil, but set for 3 tone with the stock coil? Gerry in Idaho

  • Good to see some coil comparisons. I like the chart test showing the inches.

    To clarify for those who don't know. The stock coil on the X-Terra 305, 505 and standard 705 are all "Waterproof". Thanks for sharing and showing another coil many people have not seen. Gerry in Idaho
