McCotter is responsible for introducing the Happy Act, a proposed $3500 tax deduction for pet care, on 7/31/09. Tax breaks for special interest groups, no matter how well-intentioned, are counterproductive. Additionally, why a larger tax break for pets than children? I'm very disappointed in one of my favorite congressmen.
I don't see that any jobs were saved. The steel industry (which my husband worked in for 15 years) is gone. Now the auto industry is gone. Ford is producing its newest car in INDIA. Hopefully there will be high taxes on those imports. Make it more attractive to stay in the U.S., using our materials and labor. Then we'll see jobs again. It's time for us to stop worrying about everybody else at our own expense.
