  • this is great! please keep uploading!

  • @goldsmith000 we have never seen such a thing before in norway (ITF)

  • @H0tkebab I'm in WTF tkd, and I've been sparring without body armour for quite a while. I do agree with you that chest guards tend to disrupt your motion.

  • @pepsi89

If you strike down hard enough with the heel it will take down an opponent. However I'm used to sparring without body armour for protection and I fight in a completely different style, Muay Thai where the pointing system is different. With the chest guards used in WTF Taekwon-do it will be considerably less effective because of the straps that are in the way. But yes, any strikes around the neck area are effective.

  • @H0tkebab yea, that would take out anyone who had a shoulder dislocation quite easily

  • @pepsi89 Yes, however, Master Kim is talking about this specific tactical situation. In such, you advance with a roundhouse and the other player counters with a roundhouse. There won't be enough time to raise your leg for a head strike but a strike to the chest is viable.

  • @pepsi89 I wouldn't say "better," prolly "preferred." It all depends- if you are sure you can control your kick, then it's pretty good. Otherwise, if you do it too hard or something, the judges may dock you points. And some people can't kick as high as someone's head, so they have to aim a bit lower.

  • @pepsi89

Coming down onto the collar bone from the shoulder. I've seen people taken out in sparring matches that way. So I suppose you could say above the chest, but in that general area is a good place to aim with the axe kick.

  • axe kick to the head is better..right?

  • @H0tkebab shoulder? is there any point to be earned by doing that i doubt it really
