  • The previous was an article about Peter Salisbury. A piano tuner and piano mechanic.

He says Alicia de Larrocha definitely preferred Steinway. That's all he'll say, though. The rest comes under his 'ethics of confidence'.

  • Minutes of observation - followed by hours of 'discreet' consultation - have taught him that Alfred Brendel likes 'a bright clear voice with a traditional Steinway regulation, but on the shallower side'; that Shura Cherkassky prefers 'a rounder sound, more malleable, with a wider tendency for colour'; that Alicia de Larrocha prefers her tuning to be 'very slightly distorted, to give the piano a warmth, to give the Steinway - a Bechstein sound'.

  • Is this the ACCU-tune model 350..

    The manufacturer is Ward Widener

    Widener Engineering

    203 Westbrook Drive

    Austin TX 78746

Do concert pianists differ in the subtleties of how a piano is tuned???

    F3...A4...C6. okay

  • This looks like a good series, but the audio quality is bad. The microphone needs to be placed better. It sounds like you're in an echo chamber, and the bench creaking makes it very difficult to hear what you're saying.

  • hi,

Could you please give me the make and other details of the tuner that you are using. I would like to try some tuning. Thanks
