we've been building these for years here in texas, we would use old plow disc and weld two horseshoes on for handles and use a turkey fryer burner, always worked great. Is that why its called "disc-it", after a plow disc?

One thing for certain is the chinese hate chasing their food in a pan...thus the wok was born!with its tall round wall edges...if a wok is too flat it can not be used for stir-frying(chao) it can only be used for frying dumplings or pancake.....
