The end of this story makes no sense. The turnip couple started with two socks and a sweater that fit the old man. The socks and sweater (which already fit the old man let me remind you) were taken apart and put back together into a sweater that perfectly fit the old man. There are two socks worth of extra yarn in that sweater. Think about it people. That old man is gaining weight at an extraordinary pace. The moral of the story should be to eat less dairy. He should eat more turnips.
