Larry Holmes had a better jab than Ali, straight from Shavers' mouth, it was like a normal punch!

Holmes says some things contrasting boxing today and back in his time.

  • MUHAMMAD ALI the greatest

  • @bigmace1000 tyson kod both dese niggas

  • @tulletudse Well said..I also have respect for Foreman, but Muhammad would have outwitted poor George every time.

  • @bigmace1000 I agree 100%. George was just to simple a fighter for Ali and could not apply his strength on him. Different styles make different fights. Ali had all sorts of trouble with Joe Frazier and Ken Norton, whom George just steamrolled through and would 7 days a week. I have all the respect in the world for George Foreman, but I dont think he would ever beat Ali.

  • @bigmace1000

The young brooding Foreman Body with the old very articulate shrewd Foreman head would of beaten any heavyweight , he would never of rushed in trying to knock you out round after round in the heat of the jungle like he did in Zaire , he would of paced himself far better . With that dominant heavy jab he would of set the pace for Ali , not letting the older Ali rest but still dishing out pain . Its so frustrating that big george is obviously a smart guy but lacked confidence

  • @nobbytang The golden age of the 70`s was a result of the up and coming fighters of the late 60`s.

Yes, I do think you are right about Ali being over rated in the 70`s and I also think your right that it was a result of the Foreman fight..However styles make fights and Ali would have beat George Foreman 7 day`s a week.

  • @bigmace1000 Sorry to disagree but the golden age of heavyweight boxing was the 70s not the 60s , that means the quality of opponants is such that any one of the top 10 could of been champ in another era . I think the older Ali is overated and his fight with Big George is the reason , because he won and beat maybe the best heavy ever but in reality it was big george who lost it in his reckless attack way in the heat of the jungle . A older wiser George would never of done that

  • @nobbytang A late 1966 or 1967 Ali would have made Larry and Ernie look like fools, perhaps you should go view the Ali vs Williams fight one more time ...then contact Ali and say sorry...

  • @bigmace1000

Dont talk crap , I take it you mean the first phase of Ali fighting life when he was known as Clay ? , well he was too light then and moved so quick his punches lacked power but he was hard to hit , the second part of his boxing life he trusted more in his chin - but in either a peak 1979 - 81 Larry Holmes would of out jabbed him ,

In Ali last 7 fights a lot of people thought he lost them , jimmy young , kenny norton , Earnie Shavers & Lyle along with spinks , holmes berbick

  • @XionComrade LOL!
