As a history major, I have taken a large dive into studying how the bible matches up to REAL recorded history and in this video I demonstrate how the "history" in the bible does not line up with what we know as being actual history.

CITATIONS: (Please note, these citations are for the layperson so people without access to scholarly articles can access them (since a lot of places charge). If enough demand is asked for, I will cite the scholarly articles as well.

1) This chronological order is based on the works of Raymond E. Brown, a Catholic Priest, as well as the work of others

2) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Jewish-Roman_War

3) From the book Jesus and Gospel by Graham Stanton, Page 65 (AVAILABLE ON GOOGLE FOR FREE)

Citations for all of the Bible verses come straight out of the Bible (NIV)

  • A Christian is telling me that all of the gospels were written during Jesus's lifetime. How do I respond to this?

  • @HorrorIllogium by telling him he's an idiot

  • @HorrorIllogium on a serious note, u tell him that even biblical scholars say that the gospels were not written til several years later

  • Have you looked at the comments at this newly hyped spoken word "Jesus is great but religion is shit" video?

They seriously made me despair. It looks like 90% of Christians have never bothered learning the first fact about their religion's history. After two centuries plus of critical scholarship, there are still millions of people declaring that nonsense about fulfilled prophecies, eye witnesses and Bible-confirming archaeology.

Thanks for this video, even if it's just a drop on a hot rock.

  • @blackwolf1200 well the whole "jesus predicted the destruction of the temple is not that impressive considering that the temple was most likely already destroyed during the time all of the gospels were written so anyone could have just written after the fat "hey man, this dude jesus predicted the temple would fall and it happened! hurr durr he was a prophet"

  • You mean the story gets more dramatic and exaggerated with each re-telling. Oh... come on, that's not very likely. In my experience, when people retell a story they take care to repeat it truthfully. When I tell my kids about the 6 planes which hit the World Trade Centres, I make sure to get the facts straight. So why wouldn't the authors of the gospel do the same?

  • cant wait for your other videos, debunking jesus christ, how long will it be till you upload?

  • The gospel of judas is a fake and has been known to be a fake for many centuires. People have known about the gnostics and gnosctiscism itself was trying to dissociate itself from judiasm. CHristianity even the latter time was still tied to judiasm. THe whole gospells can notbe understood apart from the tying to second temple judaism

  • @HorrorIllogium

Tel him that the bible was written by romans. Thus ther are roman catholic.

  • I would love to see your take on the similarities of the Egyptian and pre Egyption faiths that preceded this silly religion.

  • To be fair to the faith, it should be mentioned that the selectors of the canon had specific requirements of the books that were included in the bible.

  • I would have turned that shitting terrorist in for only 20 pieces of silver.

  • one of several "revelations" which caused me to deconvert was the knowledge that the bible was a manufactured by cherry picking the books that leant validity to the church's authority to disseminate "knowledge".looking forward to your next video!
