Venice Beach Attempt

Trying to fly to Venice Beach from Orlando (Quest Air). Almost made it, had the glide, but knew it was going to be tough against the sea breeze. Combine that with a large swamp and you understand why I landed 20 km short.

Nice attempt..! How do you manage the controlled air traffic?

@mvent2009 We set the task in such a way that we would not enter any airspaces which require IFR or radio comm. We only flew in area's where you're absolutely free to fly. We make sure we have the airspaces in our GPS instruments, so we can avoid them.

@6btl6 We were flying south with an east wind and downwind of those lakes. So we wanted to pass the lakes and there was a good looking cloud just south of it (heading for it at 1:10). Surprisingly, that one didn't work or I missed the lift. So we glided on to the populated area surrounded by woods under the dissipating cloud. We had to work some light lift there until it turned on again.
