"Spatial Body Division" is a series of digital photographs taken at SSamzie-gil, Seoul, South Korea, as a means of illustrating the abstraction of the whole "self" produced by the "authentic" commercial space. SSamzie-gil, an open market for "traditional" korean goods, seeks to "re-create the condition of shop lined alleys that are the hallmark of the neighborhood" by using a continuous slope that allows shoppers move from street-level to rooftop. Each image captures a moment of division in relation to the different levels of the space whereby each floor of SSamzie-gil has a direct relationship to the captured body.
