Sel Operasi Pasukan Khas - Malaysian GGK, PASKAL and PASKAU Joint Special Forces Tribute

A tribute to Malaysian Armed Forces special ops on joint counter-terrorism task forces known as SOPASAS (Sel Operasi Pasukan Khas) or Joint Anti Teror Task Forces which consists of Grup Gerak Khas, PASKAL and PASKAU.

The Grup Gerak Khas (GGK)/Rejimen Gerak Khas (RGK) or Special Forces Group is a special operations corps of the Malaysian Army. Trained by the British 40th Commandos of Royal Marines, 22nd SAS, US Green Berets and US Marine Corps Force Recon, the GGK/RGK involved the rescue missions the trapped 75th US Rangers and Delta Force during gunfight Bakhara Market, Mogadishu, Somalia against the forces of the warlord Mohamed Farah Aidid.

The Pasukan Khas Laut (PASKAL) or Special Naval Warfare Team is a maritime counter-terrorism team and special operations force of the Royal Malaysian Navy. Modeled and trained by the Indonesian KOPASKA, British Royal Marines Commando and US Navy SEALs, PASKAL is a Malaysia No.1 Special Forces currently operates some of the most US and European weaponry as well as advanced and sophisticated equipment better than army and air force special ops. PASKAL currently successfully thwarted an attempted hijacking by Somali pirates on the Malaysian chemical tanker, a MT Bunga Laurel in the Arabian sea, near the Gulf of Aden on January 20, 2011 during the Operation Enduring Freedom - Horn of Africa. The gunfight with the team which resulting three pirates wounded, four detained and no casualties to the PASKAL or Filipino crewmembers. The success operation has been reported in the AFP, Al Jazeera, Bangkok Post, BBC News, Channel News Asia, German FinanzNachrichten, Hindustan Times, Reuters, Turkey Sea News and USA Today.

The Pasukan Khas Udara (PASKAU) or Special Air Service Warfare Team is a air force counter terrorism and special operations forces of the Royal Malaysian Air Force. Trained by the SAS, PASKAU is own the main three regiments with different capabilities such as Flight Hostage Rescue Team, Combat Air Rescue and Force Protection Team. The Flight Hostage Rescue is a very high expertise struggle against terrorism threats including the hostage rescue in the hijacking civil or military aircraft as well as destroy or special assassination the high value targets on behind enemy lines.
