  • 5 million (oil) barrels works out to 840 gallons/acre/year.

    That's only 32% more yield than Oil Palm.

    Pretty low yield for Algae :-/. Figures cited for Algae photobioreactors are generally 6 - 25 times that amount.

    Is it perhaps because it's an open pond system?

  • Bio-Diesel is the right direction. I tried buying a Bio-Diesel car last year and found that there wasn't enough bio-diesel stations to buy gas from. I'm glad to see more companies working to make it more readily available.
