Where was the "free will" of the woman in the story that Christopher shared? I'm pretty sure she willed to escape this situation, but that request was denied (by a god who supposedly grants free will to all). A system in which the "free will" of one person can rob the "free will" from another is not a morally sound system. Any god who doesn't have the foresight or intelligence to design the system otherwise or see how this would created immense and unnecessary suffering isn't worth believing in.

At 6:11, Hitchens' double facepalm.

@nleyh32 You're not missing anything. Its a ridiculous argument. I would even go further and say that the concept of God is completely incompatible with free choice.

Hitchens at 6:11, literally tries to pull his hair out. But, how can someone be free and subject to a sovereign? That's like saying a slave from the 1850s is free although he/she is subject to his/her slave owner (sovereign figure). Perhaps I am missing something but I don't understand the speaker on the right's argument about freedom under a sovereign. Anyone care to elucidate and clarify?

What a totally useless argument about freewill from the guy on the right. Doesn't he read his bible? Satan was given great things, he even sees god daily (possibly, according to some theology), but still chooses to be rebellious. So why doesn't god just hang out with us on a daily basis, you know, have Jesus chill with us? It wouldn't upset our freedom according to theology. It's a ridiculous claim hoping that people who hear it do not read their bibles.

It's totally disgusting to hear these christians continually ask 'why do you care?' when it comes to moral questions! They only care because, as they say, god commands them. But I care because I choose to care about suffering! Which is more moral?

The moderator is totally bias and has no concept of what it is to moderate.

Definitely one of Hitch's more epic Christian slayings

Damn, Hitch stepped into a lions den here and did really well. Four Religious apologetics vs one Hitch.
5 vs Christopher. And guess what....THEY GOT THE HITCHSLAP.

We have science, and through science we will cure cancer, through science someday we will heal amputees. Hitchens is going to spank these four babies and put them to bed without supper!
