If you have pre-ordered a physical copy of Star Wars: The Old Republic, we've got good news for you! BioWare has brought back the grace period that allows gamers to play the game for two days after the official launch on December 20 without entering the product code. Without the grace period, those users would have to wait for the boxed copy of the game to show up in order to access the code.

Reload your blasters and get over to IGN for more Old Republic info!

No, I mean WoW is an exception to everything, it did ridiculously well and no one had thought it would have been as successful as it was. As far as all mmos besides WoW FFXI did very good. Iron Man wasn't a huge failure because it wasn't as big as Batman, it just wasn't as successful. You've never played FFXI, so don't say it's completely different, I've played both. FFXI is a fine mmo and the controls are the same, you can use a keyboard for consoles if you want too.

  • @Dawisch That's great. It has yet to happen, so it's impossible as of now. CS:GO will not be nearly as popular on psshit as the PC.

  • @reconnoob Actually I did read the other comments. Firstly your argument that a wow-type MMO would be impossible on consoles due to controls completely fails since PS3 and Xbox 360 support mouse and keyboard. Final Fantasy XI required a mouse and keyboard to play. Also more and more game developers are moving toward consoles. Counter strike global offensive (previously in the series a PC exclusive) is going to be on PC and PS3. Guess how it works on PS3? With a mouse and keyboard.

  • @Dawisch Herp derp lets not read other comments. It's not popular today, it's not a wow type mmo, which the Old Republic is. How about you read other comments before you say shit.

  • @reconnoob Ha. Phantasy Star Online happens to be widely considered one of the best RPGs on the GameCube with an average critic score of 9/10. It also has a huge fan base and was so popular that it was ported to PC and other consoles and also had quite a few sequels. Also final fantasy...

  • @Covaxius FF in general is just huge aswell. The fact that most people have no clue about FFXI, that shows its not extremely succesfull. And that is just one example.

FF is also a completely different type of MMO. This is a wow-type MMO, which would be impossible on consoles due to controles.

In 09 FFXI had 2 million activate players. That's 2 million paying accounts were as Runescape has 1 million paying accounts like right now. FFXI was successful and it still has enough people playing it for it not to shut down after all this time. There are tons of PC mmos that have come out since FFXI that have done waaaay worse, the reason it's not as big as WoW isn't because it was also available on the console, it's because WoW is just huge.

  • @Covaxius Runescape is a decade old, WoW is damn near a decade old, along with many other PC mmo's. Console mmo's are just not sustainable like PC mmo's, and console hardware is damn near a decade old now.

  • @reconnoob

It was successful enough not to go free to play like 99% of mmos that come out. Successful enough for them to come out with four expansions. Why isn't it popular today? Cause it's fucking a decade old.

  • @Dawisch Holy shit read the comments below. Not a single on of them has been successful, and made a decent amount of profit, nor have an active player-base. Try harder.
